Festive Weekend
The holiday spirit is definitely alive in Arkansas! With Festival of Trees, the Miracle League party and more, it was a fun-filled, festive weekend! Socializing and tasty treats were enjoyed by all who got dolled up and braved the cold weather. But most important is that by getting out this weekend, party-goers supported such worthy causes!
Here’s a taste from the weekend’s celebrations:

Inviting Arkansas Assistant Editor Jillian Duke and Editor Jennifer Jones step in front of the camera (for once!) at Festival After Dark, part of the three-day festival benefiting Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute.

Larry and Sheila Vaught at Tux ‘n Trees, the black-tie affair of Festival of Trees. All proceeds from the three-day event help support cancer patients of Arkansas. Hats off to all the volunteers and participants!

Inviting Arkansas Publisher/Owner Michele Towne met up with New York Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett at the Miracle League party! A.J. is originally from North Little Rock. He and Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee (from Benton) may have been rivals in the World Series, but the two Arkansas-bred baseball players came together for the Miracle League All-Stars fundraiser. The event brought 10 Major League players together to Little Rock for a training camp for kids and an adult party with the players.

Michele with Philidelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee and Boston Red Sox pitcher Bill Traber. Michele says the event was a success! “It was packed, lots of fun and nice because lots of the Easter Seals kids who participated in the camp got to be there. And all the money raised stays in Arkansas for more Miracle League fields to be built,” she says.

We even spotted Santa! And rumor has it he will make another appearance this coming weekend at the Miracle Ball, benefiting Arkansas Children’s Hospital. So be nice!
